What are the age requirements?

Fall and Spring Soccer

·      4 years old through 8th grade.

o   We allow 3yr olds to register but a parent/guardian is required to be on the field at all times.

Summer and Fall Ball

·      4 years old through 8th grade.

Can my child play up or down a division?

Players are NOT allowed to play down a division.

 

Certain scenarios allow players to play up a division, but it must be cleared through LaVille Youth Sports.

 

What are the fees/What is included in the fees?

Fees vary per program and season.

Information will be provided when registration opens.

 

Fees cover:

·      Registration

·      Shirt

·      Socks (Spring Soccer only)

·      Hat/Visor (Summer Ball only) 

What is the length of the season?

Fall Soccer

·      The season traditionally starts after Labor Day and runs for 6-7 weeks long. 

Spring Soccer

·      The season starts mid-March and runs through last weekend in May.

·      The All-Star Tournament is traditionally the 1st or 2nd weekend in June.

Summer Ball

·      The season traditionally starts the last week of May and runs through mid-July. 

Fall Ball

·      The season traditionally starts after Labor Day and runs for 6-7 weeks long.

 

Where are practices and games played?

Fall Soccer

   ·      All practices and games are played in the evening, weekdays at Newton Park.

 

Spring Soccer

·      Prek/K practices and games are played in the evening, weekdays at Newton Park.

·      1st-8th graders practice and play home games at Newton Park.

o   Away games are played at surrounding communities.

o   Games are played on Saturdays with occasional evening weekday games.

 

Summer Ball

·      Teeball practices and games are played in the evening, weekdays at Newton Park.

·      8U-14U practice and play home games at Newton Park.

o   There are a few away games at surrounding communities.

o   Games are played weekday evenings with occasional Saturday games.

Fall Ball

·      All practices and games are played in the evening, weekdays at Newton Park.

 

What time are practices and how long are they?

All practices are scheduled after work hours and typically last one hour.

 

What equipment do we need to bring?

Soccer

·      Shin guards

·      Cleats (preK/K players may wear tennis shoes)

·      Soccer ball (optional)

*LYS provides soccer balls for each team.

 

Baseball

·      Cleats

·      Mitt/Glove

·      Helmet (optional)

·      Bat (optional)

·      Catcher’s Gear (optional)

*LYS provides helmets, bats, and catchers gear for each team.

 

Softball

·      Cleats

·      Mitt/Glove

·      Helmet (optional)

·      Bat (optional)

·      Mask (optional)

·      Catcher’s Gear (optional)

Teeball

What should my child wear?

Fall Soccer

·      Practice: any color shirt, shorts, and socks

·      Games: Provided shirt, any color shorts and socks

 

Spring Soccer:

·      Practice: any color shirt, shorts, and socks

·      Games

o   PreK/K: provided shirt, black shorts, and black socks

o   1st-8th: provided shirt and socks, and royal blue shorts

 

Summer Ball:

·      Practice: any color shirt, pants, and socks

·      Games

o   Teeball: provided shirt and any color pants and socks

o   8U-14U: provided shirt, grey pants, and royal blue socks

 

Fall Ball:

·      Practice: any color shirt, pants, and socks

·      Games:

o   Teeball: provided shirt and any color pants and socks

o   1st-8th: provided shirt, grey pants, and royal blue socks

 

Are there any district lines?

There are NO district lines for soccer, baseball, softball, or teeball.


o   Our soccer teams are currently a part of the NCSA (North-Central Soccer Association).

o   Our baseball teams are sanctioned through BPA (Baseball Players Association) and therefore have no district lines.

o   Our softball teams are sanctioned through NSA (National Softball Association) and therefore have no district lines

 

What if we are running late or need to miss a practice/game?

Please notify your coach at your earliest convenience when you are going to be late/miss a practice or game.

 

How do we communicate with our coach/find out team information?

Coaches utilize the free SI Play app. Please make sure you download the free app to have access to your team’s practices, games, and roster.

 

How will we be notified if a practice/game is cancelled?

LaVille Youth Sports utilizes Sports Illustrated Play (SI Play) and if a practice/game is cancelled due to weather, field conditions, etc. LaVille Youth Sports will send out a notification through the SI Play app and will post an update on Facebook (www.facebook.com/lavilleyouthsports).

 

Are there bathrooms/concessions available?

Yes! All our practices and home games take place at Newton Park! Newton Park has bathrooms located across from the playground as well as inside the central Dome. Concessions are also available at most practices and at all home games.

 

Do we need to bring water/Gatorade?

You are welcome to bring your own water/Gatorade for practices and games. Newton Park does have water fountains located throughout the park as well as a concession stand where water and Gatorade are available for purchase.
